In 2020 we expanded our mission to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, part of the Republic of India. Big chance you have never heard of these islands, and it is no wonder. It is an archipelago, some 700 miles off the east coast of India, and stretching over a distance of 450 miles. It counts some 600 islands, of which 35 are inhabited. Only 6 islands can be visited, the others are tribal areas where people still have no or hardly any connection to our world. The islands are inhabited by the Jarawa tribes.
North Sentinel Island
One island is probably the most isolated part of the world: North Sentinel Island. Only once in history white men entered the island without being killed by the islanders. The number of residents is unknown, but probably not more than 500 people. Videos can be seen on YouTube.
South Andaman Island
We run an elementary Pastors school on the main island: South Andaman Island with the capital Port Blair. This island and the adjoining island are still partly unreached, but our goal is to reach out to the restricted islands. We have a Pastor who has permission to travel there – except North Sentinel Island, of course. It is complicated to go there, but he goes now and then, and evangelizes over there.
Other outreach areas
Apart from this, we reach out to two other countries in the Far East, but we feel restricted to write about this, for those countries can be considered ‘sensitive areas’. If you want to know more, please contact us.
